United States Power Soccer Association Hosts the 2025 APFC America's Cup: A Qualifying Event for the 2026 World Cup

Phoenix, AZ – March 3, 2025 – The United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA) is  proud to host the 2025 America’s Cup, an exciting powerchair football tournament that will  serve as a qualifying event for the 2026 Powerchair Football World Cup. This prestigious event will take place from November 14th to November 20th, 2025, at Ability 360 in Phoenix,  Arizona. 

The America’s Cup is overseen by the American Powerchair Football Confederation  (APFC), the governing body for powerchair football in the Americas, and is sanctioned by the  Federation International of Powerchair Football Association (FIPFA), the global governing  body for the sport. Six elite teams from across the Americas will compete for a coveted spot in  the 2026 World Cup: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Uruguay, and the United States.  This highly anticipated event will showcase exceptional displays of skill, teamwork, and  sportsmanship from athletes with disabilities. 

What to Expect: 

  • Intense Competition: Watch as the world’s top powerchair football teams battle it out  for the chance to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. 
  • International Unity: Fans will have the opportunity to witness athletes from six  countries coming together to compete in an event that celebrates inclusion and teamwork.
  • A Family-Friendly Event: The America’s Cup is open to fans of all ages who want to  support their favorite teams and be part of this inspiring event.

The America’s Cup serves as a vital qualification event for the 2026 World Cup, and highlights  the growth of powerchair football worldwide, a sport that empowers athletes with severe  physical disabilities to compete at the highest level. It is a testament to perseverance, teamwork,  and the spirit of inclusion in sports.
